John Wayne was an actor and the character he portrayed was a manly man, ready and able to deal physically with the bad guys. Women are not like that = they are wimpy, like Ross Perot and Ron Paul. So you prefer to vote for a manly bloke who is in favour of big government, nanny state etc rather than Ron Paul who is "hard to listen to" [which I have found NOT difficult at all]. I didn't used to find Alan Greenspan hard to listen to either. .

From what I've seen and heard, Ron Paul is more like the Uncle Toms [Clarence Thomas and Thomas Sowell] who act white than are the other candidates.
