My wood stove works way better, and cheaper than my oil burner.
World needs alternatives. Just my 2c.

"Electric Vehicles?! You have GOT to be kidding? First off, they will have to be built sooo small that if you get into an accident most likely you will be permanently injured OR killed outright. Plus, our electrical grid is almost completely useless for powering vehicles. It would take 5 trillion trillion dollars to update the system to make it viable to service a few thousand vehicles."

I disagree completely.
Mass transit can easily be upgraded(?) to run off the grid. Many cities including my own have buses that run on a trolley system of overhead powerlines. Easily installed, silent, zero tailpipe emmissions and very reliable. All those wires are not very pretty, mind you, but I don't even notice them any more.

Buses are not small!
Electric does not necessarily mean "battery powered".
Now for personal vehicles, that is a different kettle of fish.

You should all take a look at this website.
I've been thinking about replacing the 84lb battery in my BMW with one of these 5lb 900amp nano-phosphate lithium beauties...
Several people in our club have these batteries in their M5's and report great success over the last 6-9 months.

I am not saying this is the answer, but perhaps hybrid vehicles could use this technology instead of a heavyweight battery of batteries. I'm sure these could be used with great success. Cost is likely the prohibitive element.
