I forgot about those: <Portugal, Southwestern Australia, some part of Chile no doubt and the Cape of Good Hope. >

30 years ago I thought the best places to live were Perth [southwest Australia], San Diego, Auckland [in summer anyway, and because it's home and winter wasn't too bad] and London [provided you have enough money to not have to work and live in the west so you can hop on a private jet and head for sunshine any time].

We spent a day in Capetown and socially it looked too dodgy. Climatically I suppose it's good. I don't know about Chile. Part of it should be pretty good I suppose. A bit too far away from everything for my liking. It has been improving in recent decades.

We were in Portugal during the 1974 revolution but it was a very nice place. Maybe Morocco would be better - I know a woman who grew up there and life was good [now lives in California]. Distant relatives have recently moved there from eastern France [Vosges mountains]. That'll mean a warmer winter!

I do like some Pacific Ocean being handy though. There's nothing like some summer swells rolling in from the Pacific Ocean.
