I agree with that mindmeld, I am only talking about giving the right to gays to have a marrige fully consummated by society and given the full rights of marriage like medical insurance and inheritance and all the other rights married people have.

I and most liberals have no desire to force religous institutions to do it, or even condone it.

Although we sure wish they would quit lambasting anyone who does support gay marriage and quit calling homosexuality evil like the pope does (how do you think that makes homosexuals feel?, it hurts their feelings); and sponsering initives to ban it like what is going on in California right now; or what bush and the republican's planned to do, sponser a consitutional ammendment to ban it.

I have many gay friends and they struggle with how society treats them. They may be the one group more mistreated than African Americans. Gays suffer because of our ignorance and intolerance. I see it all the time. We have a large gay community where I live.

Think about how barbaric that is. A consitutional ammendment to ban gay marriage! that is almost all they talked about in the last election. Most people are against gay marriage. Which I find barbaric.

Only two states right now even allow gay marriage.

Does Obama support civil unions with all the rights of marriage?
