The Vietnam War debt would be trillions in today's Bush dollars. That was dumped on Carter most of all. For four years we were hit by sky-high inflation due to overwhelming debt, plus the oil wars in the Middle East. Carter was a very unlucky presdient, but his clean energy program alone (which Reagan dismantled 100%) makes him in retrospect one of our greatest presidents because we'd be 100% off Arab oil by now if Carter's green energy campaign was allowed to continue. Instead we are on the verge of a great depression thanks to Bushie oil thieves.
