Lorne

I get the feeling when reading this article that Obama is stuck in his mind in Chicago doing Community Organization.

IMO, the key to helping churches and religious organizations do the charitable work that has historically been done by them is to free the individuals who go to these from the governmental taxation that inhibits their personal giving.

When the government becomes the provider of $ for the charity work then another layer of beauracracy is created and must function to distribute the funds collected and to oversee the programs------costing more $ with all of the acoutrements to support that activitiy by the government.

Obama is on the wrong track if he thinks Presbyterians, noticed he gave his speech at a Presbyterian Church, support such government largesse. Au Contraire.

My surmise is that this will lose him votes rather than gain votes.
