Administration blocking EPA from addressing global warming pollution
Statement by Brendan Bell, Union of Concerned Scientists

WASHINGTON (June 30, 2008) – The White House is currently blocking the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from complying with a 2007 Supreme Court ruling that directed the agency to develop global warming pollution regulations under the Clean Air Act.

Below is a statement by Brendan Bell, a Washington representative with the Union of Concerned Scientists:

“EPA scientists and policy experts know what to do to build a clean energy economy that would save us from the worst consequences of global warming. But the Bush administration won't let them. The White House should get out of the way and let the EPA do its job. The science on global warming is clear and we have solutions for the problem. The administration's policy of denial, delay and deceit is putting our country and the planet at risk.”
