No, the Vietnam War debt was never really paid off. And the Iraq War debt will eclipse it and may never get paid off either. Though during the Clinton years we did start paying down part of the debt. That requires raising taxes on the very rich and big corporations who have all the money. And it actually helps the overall economy. Remember how great the Clinton years were economically? It's because we paid our bills as we went.
