...have you ever watched people texting in their cars??...

Having lived in the L.A. area and traveled the freeway system for many years, I can safely say that I have witnessed just about everything a driver might or could do while driving.

Playing with the phone, using it, playing with their Ipod, messing with the NAV, reading a paper, a book, a map, a newspaper, shaving, putting on makeup, taking off makeup, eating food, peeling an orange, drinking a beer, playing (?) with the driver, getting dressed, getting undressed, reaching in the back seat, petting the dog, playing with the dog on their (driver's) lap, and on and on. I once saw a couple driving about 55-60mph - woman driver with the male passenger punching her over and over. Each time she left the lane in an effort to blunt his fist.

I have witnessed accidents (rollovers) and more "rubber necking" than is imaginable. :-)

Most recently, my wife and I were driving to downtown and this lady passed us proceeding to weave in and out of not one, but two lanes of traffic. Unfortunately, not a cop in sight.

So far, I have not witnessed texting.
