People who can't drive cars should be prosecuted and punished for failing to do so - fortunately, nature does that because they crash and that costs them a lot of money.

oh of course.......

just like the guy who gets in his car blazing drunk, plows into someone, kills the others (vehicular homicide) and he gets 6 months in jail, and 5 years probation

but on to my actual point, being laws that are written to discourage unsafe driving practices

i realize making a law against texting, or i-poding, or gaming while driving isn't going to stop the terminally stupid, but i do think when word gets out that you get a $100 fine if caught, it does have somewhat of a modifying effect....it then becomes a cost/benefit analysis decision and even semi-intelligent people might come to the conclusion that hmmmmm..... their text message is not quite worth the $100 it MAY cost them
