Seems like you can justify anything these days by telling the opposition, "Oh yeah? Well ... you voted for Bush twice!"

You could even nominate Susan Sarandon, then avoid describing her "qualifications" with that excuse.

Then declare victory and move on. The last rule of partisan politics.
