"Same here, but at least *something* is happening."

Something ain't always a good thang <g>

I remember during the oil embargo when Popular Mechanics profiled a new, futuristic 3-wheeled car that would get 70 mpg and could withstand a sledgehammer blow to it's shell. Turned out to be fake of course.

How about the cars that run on water? Pah-leeze.

How about granting a 5k/month mortgage to somebody making 1k per month? It's a new pair-a-dimes! Brave new world! New economy! Who cares about profit, how about all dem eyeballs!!

On the subject of something happening... did you (anybody) hear about the breakthrough in small motors a few years ago using a tuned standing wave of intense amplitude? Was supposed to revolutionize compressor efficiency (e.g. freezer or fridge) etc. Haven't heard anything since.

Hi bart

It was on TV - history channel.

made of fiberglass ....

goes up to 70 mph - made for IN CITY DRIVING ...

they have a version with a gas engine that goes
600 miles before a fill-up ...

the cost per mile is like 2 cents ....

there are 2 ways to fill it up ...

(a) switch out a tank ... at a gas station
(b) do it at home thingie - that recharges the tank ...

Mexico and India are checking it out ...

took the guy 14 years to develop ...

bottom line - the *thing* looks very real ...

and NOBODY is/was thinking along the lines of
compressed air ...

please note - this guy is way down stream on
the development ... I could see NYC using
these puppies .... just paintem yellow -g-

regards,
John
