Obama's statement about the sandbox was pure pandering. The wiser Canadians brushed it aside for what it was.

Politicians pander immediately before sticking a knife in the back of their supporters.

I cannot believe Obama can be that ignorant. But I suppose I have revealed my naivete today very well as it is indeed possible that he means what he says.

Yes, Greensputin was vain, I got many whiffs of that, the parties, the tuxedos, the glitz, the cameras, etc., but vanity merely blinds one. The trappings of office definitely made the little guy feel like he was 7 ft. tall with an infallible brain to go with his status.

Vanity and greed, the most destructive traits imaginable. And supertoxic when together in the same man.

I expect that McCain's statement that the US would be in Iraq 100 years is likely to give him more leverage to get out gracefuly than Obama's promise to get out.
