One of the problems with a society that has some degree of meritocracy for a long time - enough of the "deserving poor"
become middle class, and leave the neighborhood. The poor have fewer good examples (role models ?) and many end up behaving like
the people on the Jerry Springer / Dr. Phil / Judge Judy TV shows.

Most middle class people find this hard to believe unless they have a job or a friend that causes them to have frequent contact with the not-so-deserving poor.

llaine... I never thought you were evil as TJ noted till this

"The income gap in America isn't between rich and poor so much as smart and dumb"

such a simplistic and overall attitude toward hundreds of millions of people shows a flawed soul. Have you no clue regarding the wage and benefit declines of the middle class the past few decades?

He is right, you are evil, naive and deceived to boot.
