<<cat for a grandson.....fair exchange I suppose....some would think that's a fine trade.>>

The grandson has been in a lot of trouble. Wrecked Mr. Huebl's truck. His JOB was to care for the cat and he tossed it outside because caring for it was a pain. Doesn't care it was killed. Kid needs some grow up time.

Thanks... and we both appreciate your words and know the cat was our responsibility alone... you have no idea how I agonized about bringing the cat along with us or even running back to see how things were going...

We do love our grandchild and we know we have to distance ourselves from him, at least for a while, for the very reasons you state, and even more of them. Ish knows our grandson totaled our truck and did many more things. He must learn the price of bad behavior and we must teach him by our absence. As he would say, "Grandma and Grandpa - your are the only 2 people who were totally accepting of me." Well we do, but we also have to protect ourselves.
