That's fine but not realistic. They intend to wage war on us whether or not we respond. In "The World is Flat"(Thos Friedman) at least one chapter is devoted to explaining how young men in the MidEast are forced by religious dogma to exist in a 7th century culture. In frustration, they eventually turn suicidal and strap on bombs. Those nations are stuck in a time warp--inflexible clerics direct their lives..it's a hopeless existence. The Iraqi war has provided an opportunity for that gov to travel a more promising road that eventually will lead to more freedom and prosperity for the people of the region. If that doesn't occur, there will be an almost endless war on terror until one side is finally defeated.
