"and he was of impeccable character and accomplishment (despite innumerable liberal attempts to smear him)."

Was that before or after the porn movie he funded?

Phil has been credited with passing the legislation that made the sub-prime bubble possible. Not only that, he also authored and got inserted in the middle of the night the legislation that made Enron possible and spawned the whole derivatives market that threatens to sink our economy.

Enron was grateful enough that his wife was invited on the board.

Ok, youthful indiscretions, you say. Well, look at the company he is associated with now. Who is tied up in the sub-prime mortgage mess up to its eyebrows(see above). You know, the one who told its executives to steer clear of the US else they could be arrested. Who has trained its executives in such things as smuggling gems in toothpaste tubes to help its clients dodge taxes.

Yup. Fine. Upstanding. Ethical.

He didn't do like McCain who first packed his campaign with lobbyists and picked people like Phil Gramm as advisers.

With all due respect, Phil Gramm was one of my Senators for many years, and he was of impeccable character and accomplishment (despite innumerable liberal attempts to smear him).
