This country is in a mess and sliding into a deeper hole everyday. America has been brought down to its knees. Even the Europeans are out to fend for themselves even if it means pain and suffering to us here. So much for Bush-McCain war on terrorism and their rhetoric of "Mission Accomplished" and "We are wining and the surge is working." This is going to be a long hard summer folks.

Oil closes in on $146 per barrel after drop in US stockpiles and potential Iran conflict

Oil prices neared $146 a barrel Thursday for the first time ever on reports of declining U.S. stockpiles and the threat of conflict with Iran.

Comments by Saudi Arabia's oil minister suggesting his country had no immediate plans to boost production also lifted prices.
