Did you read "Is Google Making us Stoopid" in the Atlantic? I read as much as I ever did, maybe more, so I don't understand why reading more on line would make you read fewer books. I like to get my news and science on line, as well as find my references there, but it sure doesn't take the place of a book.

I agree with your reading about which direction the McCain campaign is headed. In 2000, the electorate was basking in the Clinton economic boom and hence could afford the luxury of asserting their moral values. In 2004,, the war effort was still young and the electorate let us wait and give the effort some more time and let us not change course mid stream.

Today we are back to "It is the economy stupid" raised to the power of 3 compared to the situation at the end the Bush Sr. first term.
