You said, "It's a circumstance forced upon them." Interesting point; I must agree. We may need a stricter definition of "hero" that embodies voluntary behavior with full understanding of the risks involved and without the expectancy of personal gain. When I think about it, I guess I should have said something like, "'suffered' as a result of military combat while upholding his countries national objectives." Or something more like that. I stand corrected; thanks for pointing this out.
