Save your foot (and the TV) and watch the Inspector Lewis thingies. And then let me know what you think. Our own rating, fwiw, is that the two we've watched so far are as good as the best of the Morse series. But we are getting pretty desperate. Barbara's in her study right now, combing Netflix for new series to watch. She thought she discovered that we had missed one of the Tom Selleck installments of Robert Parker's novels. No soap. They were so good we'll have to wait a few more years before our memories dim enough to pick them up again. She's just found something labeled Detective and ordered the first in the series. As I recall, it was recommended if one liked the Morse series.
