If your pushing the argument, why should I do your research for you? If the facts support your case than present them. Saying something that amounts to "you can go look for the facts yourself", isn't much of an argument. Also my statement didn't end with "Any real argument based on those facts should provide the details of the facts themselves", it continued with - "and then go on to provide reasoning about how these specific facts are meaningful as part of the larger debate." If the facts are along the lines of what you report, confirming that would not provide that reasoning, it would provide the facts that you might be able to fit in to a logical argument, but it would not make that logical argument for you.
