I hate to dump on all lawyers - there are decent people in the profession and a real need for the work they do. IMO There's at least one of them posting on this thread....<g>

Did you answer No to the question re lawyers taking an oath to tell the truth? Any group that needs to police itself deserves to be dumped on until they do so. Many lawyers appear to place themselves above the laws of the land. Others take pride in defending clients they know to be guilty...anyone who can do that, without pangs of guilt, is an unscrupulous person. Merely pointing out the reasons so many Americans hold many of them, not all, in low esteem. Out of at least a dozen I've known quite well, there is one who's really admirable...fine person. One out of 12--that is better than Congress.
