Sorry - But I am extremely skeptical of all these conclusions of QC's investments, so I have some comments.

QC has nothing in the pipe that can meaningfully top 3G which is rapidly approaching the top of the S-Curve. Paul is the IJ's son. He has no qualifications other than he is the son of IJ. Paul has a PhD in Robotics, not communications.

The growth in SGA expenses have outpaced the growth of 3G growth (chips and royalties). Just look at the income statement from 04 and now. In other words, the company is not as efficient as it was in the past. If IJ was still running this company using the same financial metrics as in 04/05, we would have vastly higher earnings.

Did we forget some of Paul's projects of the past.

1) Net Zero - $50M QC investment = Net Zero
2) QC Subscriber
3) Wireless Knowledge
4) Wingcast
5) Brew
6) Others....

IJ has stuffed the board with ringers who are all paid off and he sees shareholders more as leaches that already made too much money off of him. I am sorry to say this because overall, I have so much respect for everything IJ has done for the shareholders, San Diego, and its employees.

Please see this for what it is. QC is scrambling to figure out what is next after 3G and Paul is trying to prove himself through aquistions using our retained earnings. Industry is rapidly gaining control over the technology QC collects royalties from, thereby eroding potential earnings, and QC has no other meaningful avenues to grow future earnings.

Paul did not get this job because he was the most qualified, he got the job because his Dad wants to do what every father can for his kids.

These are just remarkably big markets to serve, sell into, and enable.

I am never worried about whether Qualcomm aims high enough....OTOH, I am always worried about whether they will hit their target.
