Imo, one thing that's assumed by the vast majority of fund investors is that the funds' performance numbers are accurate or "truthful".

I assume many funds lie or exaggerate their performance. There's too much money involved for them not to shade their numbers.

The gains funds say they get over time "with dividends reinvested" are more than what an investor in their funds will see.

I've no facts. Just my opinion only.
