Yeah welfare is inadequate. It needs to be bolstered. Too many going hungry and living on the streets. It's shameful.

Welfare is minimal since the 90's. It's a small but crucial item for those who would starve to death otherwise. This includes those on disability, etc. Unlike the Republicans, we have compassion for people who are unable to make a living. Reagan was a great personality but threw tens of thousands of mental patients out onto the streets starting the homeless problem. These days we have thousands of military vets who are homeless. There is very little in the way of help for them. But the rightwing doesn't give a damn. Never did, never will. But they do give a damn about Exxon, OPEC and the billionaires. Those people they fight for tooth and nail.
