Kerry's Silver Star story is absolutely 100% true and was confirmed by ABC Nightlife which went to the very village and talked to villagers who were there. They ID'ed Kerry's attacker/victim as a 23 year old VC regular, not a "teenage kid" as the smearvets lied. He was aiming an RPG at Kerry's boat and instead of retreating Kerry ordered his helmsman to charge, leapt off the boat right into the rocketeer's face and chased him into the boonies where he didn't know how many more VC there might be. Kerry then killed the guy mano a mano. He deserved his Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. He earned them all and was known as the most daring and courageous young skipper on the Delta. Even his rightwing admiral Hoffman loved him and boasted about him until decades later when two rightwing draft-dodgers Bush-Cheney were running against him, that is when some dozen rightwing veterans decided to outright lie on TV to smear and slander Kerry's repuation. The whole thing was organized by Karl Rove and Tom DElay and paid for by Texas oil and real estate money. It was all a huge hoax. There wasn't a damn thing the smearvets said that was even CLOSE to being true. Usually, it was the opposite of the truth. But they wanted $5 gasoline and that damned Iraq War to go on and on so they lied-lied-lied for Bush-Cheney, who as we now know are crooked politicians, terrible commanders in chief and even traitors.
