This is a video of the explosion of the USS Forrestal ignited by J. McCain's plane: youtube.com Apparently, McCain did what's called a 'wet start'....allowing fuel to pool in his engine. Wet starting was common among hotdog pilots who wanted to look macho by having a flame shoot out from the afterburners as they take off. Surviving crew members claim McCain did it to startle the F-4 pilot as he took off. It was the F-4 pilot who ended up dying when his plane exploded from the flame shooting out of McCain's plane. McCain was the only crewman to be transferred from the Forrestal to another ship and it was done very quickly....... even before the body count had been completed. There were 167 deaths that day on the Forrestal. I am sorry but why is this horrific accident not well known? The more I learn about McCain the more he sounds like an entitled loser scion of a prominent similar to Bush. I think what happened on the Forrestal speaks volumes about McCain.
