As mentioned, that is not education. That is indoctrination. You could say the same thing about education at Berkeley, more like socialist indoctrination........... koan: pure nonsense. Berkeley is considered to have some of the best thinkers in the world. Why do you think the nobel prize winners chose to teach there? The strength in the public scool system at all levels, is that the kids get a taste of all ideas. Liberal, conservative and libertarian. Bad techers, great teachers and medicore teachers. They learn about the world and how to socialize. Kids should understand the whole world in all its manifestations. That allows for the development of a vigorous intellect! The best way to avoid 'DOGMA' is to have "random" cross sections of the human species teaching. That way the kids get to see all sides of the issues and deal with all sort of people and can make informed decisions. My kids had many horrible teachers. I would tell them. That is life and you need to deal with it. Although if it got too bad I would intervene. My younger daughter was in a terrible authoritarian middle school in all gifted programs, but the teachers were terrible and mean, as were the administrators. They had a little gem, but only wanted obeyance. She asked me to take her out of all the programs and just put her in regular classes. I did and when she went on to High school many teachers saw her talent and good nature and became patrons to her and protected her. She was outspoken and independent minded like I raised her, but gentle, kind and smart. Just outspoken. She did very well there. The real value of the university, IMO, is that it introduces students to all of the great men and women thinkers of the world throughout the ages. That is what an education is about. Gaining wisdom!
