Rumour has it that today, there are similar socialist arguments that food should be given higher political priority to alleviate suffering around the world due to food being burned in SUVs instead of eaten by hungry people. But we wouldn't want to consider the current situation too closely, would we, or make undue comparisons with the potato famine in Ireland.... a person driving an SUV today, using ethanol, wouldn't want to scrutinize too closely their ethical position, would they?
