Don't you think it's rather obvious that a couple of atomic bombs made Japan give up after being beaten around the Pacific Ocean?

<Gee, wonder who Maureice thinks kept the Japanese empire from expanding to NZ?>

The fact that the USA nuked Japan doesn't mean that Reagan won the cold war or that the USSR didn't do most of the business of defeating Germany. Feel free to explain the reasoning. Somebody mentioned "non sequitur". Maybe you were giving an example. If so, my apologies for missing the joke.

Perhaps you could also conclude from the USA defeating Japan, that the USA invented CDMA. And anything else you please. The USA inventing CDMA doesn't prove that Reagan beat Gorby, the USA saved the world, and Private Ryan beat Germany single handedly.

It's fun not having to have any logic, meaning or facts in discussing things. I can see how you like it. Be careful though, it could lead you to mistakenly think that hot Iraqi chicks will garland USA soldiers with leis and make love to them all the time in Aladdin's Cave, and oil will pay for everything and Saddam won't get a chance to use all his WMDs ... ooops, somehow that theory didn't work out quite so well.

The neocons made an oopsy-daisy and the taxpayers are picking up the tab [and the dead and maimed people]. It's better to have sensible thinking than make up fantasies about being superman. Hopefully Obama and Petraeus can tidy things up and get my CDMA sales back on track. I'd prefer Paul and Petraeus, but we work with what we get.
