AT THE TIME, it was obvious that Gorby was NOT carrying on as normal. It was funny how the USA carried on with the Cold War AT THE TIME.


I thought Reagan's big military buildup was before Gorbachev came to power. Did the US do anything to hamper Gorbachev's reforms? Why do you suppose Gorbachev pursued glasnost and perestroika anyway, out of the goodness of his heart?

AT THE TIME [and you can click back pre-war to see my posts] it was pretty obvious that there weren't any WMDs to speak of in Iraq.

Hussein may have just been talking a big game pre-war, but once the sanctions ended, he would have been pursuing WMD development as soon as possible.
