well stalin had to either Believe it, or he Was that stupid (perhaps both). stalin was totally unprepared and extremely surprised when his people came to his dacha to tell him the germans had attacked. surprise by the germans and unpreparedness by stalin and his armies let the germans gobble up hundreds of miles of russian turf. stalin owed very, very, very much to that very early russian winter. you appear to have a humpty dumpty complex. old humpty dumpty said, "when i use a word, it means just what i choose it to mean -- neither more nor less."
