It is. It only has that range at low speeds. At 68 mph, its range is only a fraction of the 125 miles.

To utilize such vehicles here, we need to have a city class car. One that doesn't have all of the safety standards and is restricted to, say, 35 mph continuous. Eliminating the safety requirements, except for seat belts, would cut the mass significantly and make the vehicle very fuel efficient.

However, you have a glorified golf cart. But that might be ok for in town use.
