Twain was saying he doesn't believe in the formality of a duel rather he would kill the man in a secluded spot...only a joke, but proves Twain believed in unvarnished justice(like Republicans) -- not the liberal attitude of "my lawyer will meet your lawyer in a duel."

Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain also said "I don't belong to any organized party...I'm a Democrat." <g>

Clemens wouldn't be a Democrat today...he had too much common sense to keep company with today's liberal loons.
