For better or for worse, we live in an entitlement society. Wasn't it you who said that Social Security is one of the most successful government programs around? Yes, and it is. However it's not a 'pure' entitlement since folks pay in their whole lives.

Hence I'm preparing for at least two years of stagflation, followed by a more EU-style economy. I think you can count on stagflation regardless of who gets elected. It's pretty much here right now... but I guess you won't blame the Republicans. And rather than an EU style economy you can probably plan for a Volker style economy.
