All the inflationists seem pretty smart at the moment. If the GSE's have to put all their off balance sheet items back on the balance sheets, they will seem like visionaries in a few more weeks. At this point, I'm simply passing the threshhold of being able to accept any more losses. However, many of the inflationists like gold, and it hasn't seen an up day since it hit $1100. Most of the trends in the commodities are breaking down as the reality sets in - the loss in demand for industrial goods will cause the pricing of commodities to back down. The market can't support US Steel in an uptrend with GM, F, and Chrysler going out of business.

I know nothing about Rarebird, have never followed him. I'm simply very skeptical about anybody, and there are too many such on CNBC, who knows what the market is going to do. Nobody does.
