Where, back in the "days" at age of 5, I went to open a "savings account" with a "fin" declared as "Silver Certificate", to a "new young man" as the "teller for NEW ACCOUNTS"... You come back a few years later, get the $ 5.00 back YET? It wasn't the same one? Backed by "Silver" or let ALONE GOLD? And, they wanted $ 3.00/year to "keep it in the vault" in a "SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX" Simple math...back in the 60's for me... but was IT really a GOOD DEAL ?? google.com HHmm, When was the last time, you saw a "banker dig a ditch" ;-)
