There is no debate about what killed the Soviet Union -- Star Wars. There is nothing more to say.

The only people who don't acknowledge this today are the extreme Left who refuse to see the truth.


Everything you think is colored by your partisanship and ideology. Reagan no more brought down the Soviet Union than any other American president. The issue for the Soviets was economics........a poorly managed economy coupled with too many financial responsibilities in distant lands that slowly strangled them. And the US is going down the very same path.

Well, if you read the internal discussions that were going on in the Soviet Union during the 1980s and led to the rise of Gorbachev, their concern was having to scrap and replace their entire military.

SDI was a factor, but it wasn't even the biggest, much less only one.
