I thought a running correction was a "flat" 3-3-5 where C ends above the end of A (for a correction in an uptrend). Though maybe you mean a triangle with D terminating above B? You could still tell that from an ED in theory beause the first three would point down (A) rather than up (1) in an ED. Of course it might not be so clear in the real world.
