The problem with saying that the US should get 'first call' on the Iraq oil is - if you say this then you are saying that the war there was about oil and to me that is an insult to those who have fought there, those who are fighting there and those lives lost there.

Dave,

I feel as you do. Let's take care of our own first! However, since we are in Iraq and have paid dearly for it in lives and treasure, we should benefit from the oil there rather than helping to build their country and then have others who did nothing to help them benefit from their resources.
