The war, in effect, is a pay-as-you-go event -- if it ended next week, there would be no ongoing financial commitment. Congress has appropriated funds as needed to keep the war going. So, there is nothing analogous to an "unfunded liability"

Love the way you just make shit up...

"You only record a liability when (a) there is a commitment to pay, and (b) the amount is reasonably subject to determination or estimation."

So, you're maintaining that either (a) there's no commitment to take care of the 17 wounded for ever soldier killed in Iraq for the rest of their lives. or, (b) the amount it will cost is incalculable or inestimable.

Same with equipment replacement and all the other associated costs!
