the president still tried to work with Congress and there was some bipartisan cooperation in Congress. Its only been the last 20 years where things have gotten very adverserial. And remember Carter was a Democrat......Dems always try to compromise where possible......its in their DNA. Pure horseshit. Funny that anyone would believe that. I was an adult during those years. What your saying just isn't true. What were you? A Congressional aide? You sat in on meetings that discussed this issue? Fill me in on the details. TIA.
