William H. Taft He was Secretary of War under President Theodore Roosevelt from 1904 to 1908. Woodrow Wilson Served as President during World War I Warren G. Harding Calvin Coolidge Herbert Hoover None, served in a private (civilian) humanitarian capacity in Europe during World War I Franklin D. Roosevelt None, attempted to join the Navy during the Spanish American War but was unable as he contracted measles. Served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy from 1913 and through World War I; when the U.S. entered the war in 1917 he offered his resignation so that he could apply for a commission in the Navy, but was refused by the President. Served as President during World War II Bill Clinton Student deferment/ROTC.

Prolife now claiming presidents need war experience after smearing Silver Star war hero Kerry four years ago when he ran against not just one but two cowardly draft-dodgers and charlatan war profiteers. The US is not a military run nation and military service is not a prerequisite for public office. The difference between Obama's and Bush's service and is that Bush's is surrounded in bullsh*t and lies.

McCain lied to a vet today who challenged him for voting against veterans benefits for five straight years. It was on all the networks. Straight talk my ass. That guy has totally sold out to the Bushie bastards.

Bush was arrested for cocaine in 1971. That's why he couldn't show up for duty and went AWOL. The press knows this but for some reason refused to report it. They all read "fortunate Son" and know it's true. But once Rather was stabbed in the back, they all laid off and the Bush family kept their dirty secret. So they gave us four more years of disasterous corrupt policies and trillions in new debt. Millions of Americans will have their lives damaged or ruined as a result. Thousands more will die or be wounded. It really is a tragedy. American will recover but it will take a long time. Bush-Cheney have damaged this country so badly it may take 20 years to undo what they have done. And in the meantime, Americans will suffer as a result.
