Now, combine that with a 30-50% in federal and state income taxes, and the picture becomes very clear -- an attorney who would earn $300,000 is now 90-100k after taxes.

You keep spinning negative...this lawyer, assuming his 300K taxable income, he is married filing jointly, tops out at 50% in most states, and that's assuming he is paying 15% FICA and medicare on all his wages.

That same lawyer is probably paying 15% on his cap gains, and has shelters up the wazoo...
