Actually i think the biggest factor is that corps have stopped buying back their stock. Combined with the ongoing selling by individual investors, it creates a drag lower that's harder and harder for the cheerleaders to fight.

You're correct though, that the Fed is basically seen as neutralized here and that does affect psychology.

We may be seeing a quiet crash.
