One of my favorite current touchstones to help judge that:

"History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme."

"So now that the doom is in full force. Is there a way to predict which inning we are in now. At one point does it make sense to get back in on some of the ETF and financial stocks for the long term investors."

Looked like lots of panic and confusion on Kudlow tonight...didnt look like a bottom tho, looked like a bunch of guys that are really confused.

the bkx seems to have hit its measured move down from a descending triangle, might get a bounce....dont think I want to bet on it tho.

ggamer,

I"m glad someone else addressed your question, as I do not think I'm qualified to call in a bottom in the financials. I don't feel too bad about this, as it appears that Hank-the-Snake is not qualified either <g>

I do know this, and that is this is not the ninth inning. Maybe the sixth. I dunno really, but catching sharp knifes in this sector is best left to circus clowns.

I like gold. Period.
