This is something that is usually not taken into consideration, but I heard a great example on a local radio show yesterday. (a liberal talk show at that)

Fellow called in to complain that it had taken 21 months and over $130,000 in interest to the bank to obtain a permit from the city of Seattle for a straight forward townhouse duplex project. (four living spaces in all)

Unfortunately for younger people that aren't able to spend more than $300 - $350 thou on a home in Seattle, the cost of each unit just went up by $30 thou apiece thanks to that delay and the ineptitude of government bureaucracy.

Hoodlums and Luddites have taken over the environmental movement. One of the founders of the ecology movement was Buckminster Fuller, who advocated nuclear power. These modern day enviros are midgets compared to this guy.
