"The fact is that the government has grown less under the Dems in recent years than it has under the Reps." That is a trend that goes back for most, if not all, of my lifetime. So, it is a bit more than "recent". I suppose this is yet another example of the Right's propensity to make predictions and treating them as facts. Their track record is pretty lousy to the point of being an almost perfect contrary indicator, but it doesn't seem to slow them down...
