There's one other matter to consider with electric vehicles, and that's the climate they're operated in. Batteries do not like cold weather and the cruising range of an EV in LA is far greater than, say, one in Minneapolis in January when it's 20 below...

Again, even if we make progress just on family's second cars, the amount of conservation from that alone will dramatically reduce our oil imports.
